Featured on the App Store "Apps for Middle School", August 2013, Zombie Grammar Force helps students grades 6-12 develop confidence identifying the parts of speech in an approachable game-like environment.

Gameplay revolves around a zombie pirate theme. Players use their touchscreen to match word examples with the corresponding parts of speech. "Magnetic", for example, must be correctly paired with "adjective" in order to proceed. Each correct pairing clears some cloud cover, further revealing an enemy vessel. When all the clouds are cleared, the player fires an animated cannon and sinks the ship.

Each question is randomly generated and contains three parts of speech (displayed in red) with an example word for each (displayed in blue). A sizable portion of noun, verb, and adjective examples are selected from the National Spelling Bee and SAT word lists ensuring the game will challenge a broad range of students.

Scores are provided following each round of five shots. Both accuracy and time are combined to determine a fictional cash reward for each round. A running tally of earnings allows students to work towards a specific monetary goal and improve as they play.

To provide additional incentive, any player scoring a perfect round (i.e. 15 correct pairings with no errors) unlocks the significantly upgraded Mega Cannon! The louder and more dramatic explosions are sure to catch the attention of fellow students who will be motivated to unlock their Mega Cannons as well.

Zombie Grammar Force is designed to function equally well for both personal and classroom use. An optional reset feature zeroes the earnings tally and re-locks the Mega Cannon allowing each student to pick up the game and work towards an individual achievement goal.
